October light is better than any ring lamp

Doshe Journal

October arrives with a gift makers forget to open: a lower sun that rakes across wood grain, knit loops, and glaze. The same piece that looked flat under noon summer light suddenly has edges and depth.

You do not need a new camera. Move the board closer to the window. Shoot when the light is soft, not when your calendar says content day. Warm leaves outside the frame can stay outside — the light is enough seasonal signal.

I re-photograph one older listing each autumn this way. Often the only change is honesty: the object looks like it will look on someone's shelf in real weather, not under a white dome.

If you sell on Doshe this month, let October do the styling. Buyers notice texture before they notice props. Give them the real surface.
