Write the policy like a note on the door

Doshe Journal

I used to copy return policies from templates that began with “Customer acknowledges…” Nobody acknowledges anything in real life. They skim, they hope, and they message you when something goes wrong.

The policies that work in a handmade shop read like a note taped to the studio door. We ship in seven days because the glaze needs three to settle. We do not accept returns on custom sizes, because that wood is already cut to your measure. If the parcel arrives damaged, send a photo the same day and we will make it right.

Short sentences. Real reasons. No theater. When a buyer understands the why, they treat the object with more care before they even own it.

Update the note when your process changes. A stale policy is worse than a missing one — it teaches people not to trust the rest of your words. On Doshe, your shop policies sit next to your work. Let them sound like the same maker.
